Shaw put City ahead in the 85th minute, but PSG’s substitute equalised three minutes later. It was City’s third draw in three Women’s Champions League games, leaving them still waiting for a first European win of the season.
Man City Women break the deadlock through Shaw
City had chances before their breakthrough. The club’s official highlights account describes a dominant second half, with Shaw and Mary Fowler going close after a goalless opening period.
The pressure eventually produced a penalty when Shaw was brought down in the area. She converted with five minutes of normal time remaining, putting the hosts in position to turn their performance into three points.
That advantage lasted only three minutes. Elimbi Gilbert’s finish gave PSG a point and left City with another late equaliser to reflect on.

Jeglertz separates performance from result
Man City Women coach Andree Jeglertz was encouraged by the chances his team created and their defensive work, despite the disappointment of the score.
“Of course, you end up with a draw and you concede a goal in the last minutes and that is always a little bit annoying and frustrating,” he said in City’s official reaction.
City have gone 10 games unbeaten in all competitions. Jeglertz focused on the chances created and the progress across their European campaign.
Knaak makes a welcome return
Rebecca Knaak played 60 minutes in her first start since City’s FA Cup final win over Brighton in May. Jeglertz praised her defending, communication and set-piece contribution.
The planned hour was another positive from the evening. It was a step in building match fitness during a busy schedule.
Three European draws leave Man City Women work to do
City’s opening league-phase games have produced draws against Bayern Munich, Real Madrid and now PSG. Jeglertz believes the remaining opponents offer opportunities to collect the points needed for the knockouts.
On Thursday, the immediate difference was between Shaw’s late breakthrough and PSG’s quick reply: City found the goal they had been seeking, but could not protect the lead.
